Nouns stops funding CS2 roster
Nouns stops funding CS2 roster

Nouns Esports, an organization known in the North American CS2 scene, is suspending funding for its Counter-Strike team after two key financial proposals failed. Despite this, most players plan to continue playing together, but without the organization's financial support.

Rejected financial offers

Nouns Esports operates as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), where funding decisions are made by voting of its members. To participate in the voting, members purchase unique digital art objects.

The first proposal to fund the men's and women's teams until the end of 2025 was rejected. Subsequently, a second proposal was put to a vote, which was to fund only the men's team for the BLAST.tv Austin Major. However, this initiative also failed to find support, leaving the team without funding.

Future challenges

Despite the loss of financial support, Nouns plans to participate in the qualifiers for IEM Dallas and BLAST Rising. However, their request to use an emergency substitute in ESL Challenger League Season 49 was denied.

The Nouns organization entered the CS:GO scene in late 2022 and quickly became an important player in North American esports. Their exit from esports is another reminder of the financial difficulties facing the scene in North America.

Current team composition

Despite the difficulties, the team, led by coach adreN, continues to play as follows:

Their desire to continue competing even without financial support demonstrates their true commitment to the game.

Nouns Esports' withdrawal from Counter-Strike emphasizes the instability of funding in esports, especially in North America. The team is facing new challenges, but their spirit and desire to compete is inspiring. Fans will be eagerly awaiting their performances in future tournaments, hoping for more success.
