No more Crocs and refusal of interviews - ESL updated the tournament rules

The tournament operator ESL has made changes to the code of conduct for their tournaments. There are additional requirements for players' appearances, team emblems, and the procedure for participating in media activities.

ESL clarified that the license of a team, which loses three or more players from the starting lineup without considering the coach, could be revised and annulled.

Changes also affected the dress code: players are now required to wear clothes of the same color, long pants, and closed shoes. The organizers specifically noted that Crocs are not considered closed shoes and are therefore prohibited, as are headgear.

In addition, clubs can no longer refuse to provide one of the players for an interview, press conference, or autograph session.

Another change is that ESL can reject team logos that include political, religious, or offensive themes.

Will the last rule affect the Monte logo with a small Ukrainian flag in the middle? Unlikely. For example, fans are allowed to bring flags of countries to the arena - the only exceptions are the flags of the Russian Federation and Belarus due to their involvement in the war against Ukraine, as stated by one of the tournament operator representatives back in February 2023.
