Analyst and commentator Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg has published his own ranking of the best CS2 in-game leaders for 2025, with Dan “apEX” Madesclaire, Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, and Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo making the top three.

The IGL evaluation was based on T-side round win percentage, taking into account the quality of teammates each captain had and the expected results compared to the actual outcomes. Mauisnake considers this metric to be the key indicator of a captain’s effectiveness. In addition, how much stronger the T side was compared to the CT side was taken into account, while individual statistics carried the least weight.

First place in the ranking went to Dan “apEX” Madesclaire from Vitality, who posted the best result overall with a 54.1% T-side round win rate. Second place was taken by Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen from NAVI (51.1%), while the top three was completed by the legendary Brazilian Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo from FURIA with 52.1%.

The top 10 also included kyxsan (Falcons), bLitz (The MongolZ), karrigan (FaZe), chopper (Spirit), lux (Legacy), JT (Passion UA), and HooXi (Astralis). At the same time, a number of well-known captains fell outside the top ten due to lower values in the metrics that Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg considers a priority.
