A clash of the titans.
With Fnatic Rising staying in the event in the lower bracket, it was time to determine their opponent, as mouz NXT and Young Ninjas, arguably two best and most experienced teams in the Academy circuit, were scheduled to clash for the spot in the grand final.
Going to the Swedish team’s pick of Inferno, mouz NXT were not deterred by that, as the European mix won both halves for a convincing “16-11” win. Vertigo looked to be following the same path, as it was once again a mouz NXT lineup with three match points, but Young Ninjas made a force buy work, forced an overtime and then a third map with a “19-17” equalizer. Mirage, however, was far from the contested pick, as “ztr” and his teammates ran over mouz NXT on both offence and defence, taking the series “2-1” with a “16-5” victory.
Tomorrow mouz NXT will face off against Fnatic Rising, as one of the teams is going to get their rematch with Young Ninjas, who will start the final with a one map advantage in a best of five series to win WePlay Academy League Season 1 LAN.
