Ninjas in Pyjamas have confirmed that Young Ninjas player Jacob “jocab” Nerheden will continue to play for the main team at the upcoming RMR as Max “maxster” Jansson remains out of action due to health issues. The decision to keep jocab on the roster was announced by NIP general manager Björn “THREAT” Pers and coach Richard “Xizt” Landström in a recent video message. They emphasized that this is not a permanent change, nor does it mean a demotion of the maxster, who continues his recovery.
Health comes first
According to Xizt, maxster's health is improving every day, but he is not yet ready for the intense bootcamp and training required to compete at a high level in RMR competitions. “The good news is that he is getting better every day,” said Xizt. ”But we decided that he is not yet ready to train, go through a bootcamp and participate in official matches before going to RMR, and that was the main factor in making this decision.
Jocab's recent appearances
Jocab made his debut with the main team at the Elisa Masters Espoo, where NIP were eliminated after losses to B8 and JANO, finishing in last place at the tournament. Despite the initial difficulties, jocab showed progress at the Thunderpick World Championship online tournament, increasing its average rating. This increase in performance gives the team confidence in its ability to help effectively at RMR.
NIP lineup at RMR
Ninjas in Pyjamas will be playing at RMR with the following lineup:
With this lineup, NIP aims to show a strong result in the Major cycle, despite the challenges associated with the absence of maxster. The team hopes to have maxster fully recovered by the end of the year, allowing him to return to the lineup after the winter break.
