A new tournament operator called United States Esports Affiliation (USEA) has announced plans to host a massive $350k prize pool event in the United States, culminating in an eight-team LAN final.
These promises, and the announcement in general, have sparked interest and skepticism from the NA community, as the prize pool and scale of the event exceeds anything seen outside of ESL FACEIT Group and BLAST events in the region.
According to Dust2.us, the tournament seems too good to be true, and its format and rulebook are straight out of the early days of CS:GO. Complexity GM Graham “messioso” Pitt and coach Joseph “muenster” Lima were the most skeptical at the time the article was published.

Dust2.us also reported that they will be meeting with key USEA officials to learn more about their work and to learn more about their promises in order to learn about their legitimacy.
There may be a new tournament operator, but only in North America, thus popularizing CS2 among the region to open the way to cybersports for players, there may be a new top player from the United States or Canada.
