New Inferno, Premier mode and 13 rounds to win a mtch – Valve released a massive new update for CS2

Counter-Strike 2 has received a significant update that affects various aspects of the game, including a transition to the MR12 system with overtimes in case of a tie.

With the new massive wave of invites, the invitation received the highest number of players since the release of CS2 in closed testing – now everyone with Prime Status and a matchmaking rank can try out the new version of the shooter.

Premier Mode

In the new Premier Mode, a pick and ban system for maps from the current map pool has been introduced. Along with this, a new precise rating has been added, which will be displayed on the leaderboards. You can obtain this rating after achieving 10 victories.

Keep in mind that matches will now go up to 13 rounds instead of 16, as in CS:GO, and ties will result in overtimes. This applies to Competitive and Premier modes, as well as the professional scene.

Inferno and Individual Map Rankings

A new final map has been added, completing the map pool – Inferno. It has been visually redesigned, and gameplay-wise, things are not as simple anymore due to certain layout changes. Some strategies are no longer valid due to these alterations.

It's worth noting that the matchmaking rank for each map will now be distinct. This means you could be a Global Elite on Mirage and a Silver on Nuke.

Leaderboards

Now, every Prime holder will appear on various leaderboards, all of which (except for the friend leaderboard) will be public. To have your nickname displayed on the leaderboard, you need to be among the top 1000 players in the world or region (Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Australia, Africa, China).

Your association with a particular region will be determined by the location of the servers where you play the most.
