Dataminers found traces of an update in CS:GO.
Dataminers found part of the CS:GO update in the Dota 2 update.
At night, a large patch was released in Dota 2, where several terms related to CS:GO were found. The leak was originally published by the British dataminer Aquaris. In his opinion, the terms are related to Source 2.
What kind of terms were discovered?
Aquaris reported that the new terms found in the Dota 2 update are related to different content: skins, stickers, and textures. Dataminer believes this is evidence that CS:GO will switch to Source 2 very soon. The content has already been transferred.
Aquaris says so because Dota 2 has long been transferred to a new engine, which will be the same as the latest CS:GO. So any change in the game changes the engine's details, making it easy to follow future updates. And if in Source 2 there are already terms related to CS:GO textures: the update is really close.
When will CS:GO be released on Source 2?
Rumors about CS:GO Source 2, and Counter-Strike 2 began to appear actively on March 5, and players are already testing the game on the new engine. Most likely, most leaks are controllable. Journalists and dataminers say that the open beta test of the update can be opened this week.
This means the update is almost ready, and Valve is prepared to show it to the general public. The transition of CS to the new engine should be expected in a few days, and the latest period for its release will be the end of the month. It seems like Source 2 is almost here.
