NAVI go to IEM Rio 2024: tournaments schedule without training

The NAVI team continues to participate in key international tournaments without having much time for training. The next challenge for the team will be IEM Rio 2024, which starts on October 7. This is the sixth tournament for them in the last three months.

Does NAVI have time to train?

NAVI content creator Tonya Predko shared on her Telegram channel that the team is flying to Rio tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Fans are actively discussing whether the guys have time to prepare for each new tournament, given their busy schedule.

NAVI tournament schedule: 6 major events in 38 days

From July to early October, the team played in the following events:

  • Esports World Cup (July 17-21)
  • BLAST Fall Groups 2024 (July 31 - August 4)
  • IEM Cologne (August 10-18)
  • ESL Pro League (September 3-22)
  • BLAST Premier Fall (September 25-29)
  • And now IEM Rio 2024 from October 7.

Between the tournaments, NAVI had only a few days to rest: 9, 5, 16, 2, and 6 days, respectively. On average, the team had only 6.3 days between tournaments to rest and prepare. Such a schedule calls into question the possibility of fully preparing the players for each subsequent tournament.

Why are NAVI flying to Rio?

Tonya Predko noted that the team has a “little surprise” that fans will learn about. It is not yet known what exactly it might be, but NAVI are ready for another challenge on the international stage.

Fans support, but there are questions

NAVI fans express their support for the team on social media, but many wonder if the team will have time to recover and prepare after the busy schedule. Given that the tournament in Rio starts only a few days after the BLAST Premier, the question of the impact of such a schedule on the team's results is again raised.
