ESL revealed details about the upcoming IEM Sydney 2023 CS:GO tournament. The tournament operator announced the list of teams directly invited, as well as named the teams that will participate in the closed qualifiers.
Who received direct invites?
Eleven teams have been directly invited to IEM Sydney 2023: six teams with league partner status, the top four clubs according to the ESL ranking, and one representative from the host region of the championship. Among them are ENCE, FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, MOUZ, Natus Vincere, Team Vitality, Cloud9, GamerLegion, Monte, Fnatic, and Grayhound Gaming.
Qualifications
Five more participants for IEM Sydney 2023 will be determined in the closed regional qualifiers. The qualifiers are scheduled for August 23-25. European teams, including Ninjas in Pyjamas, OG, 9INE, Apeks, and four winners of open qualifiers, will compete for two LAN slots. In North America, Asia, and Oceania, one slot each will be up for grabs.
When will IEM Sydney 2023 take place?
IEM Sydney 2023 will run from October 16 to 22 in Australia. Teams will compete for a prize pool of $250,000 and a slot at IEM Katowice 2024. For updates, schedules, and tournament results, you can follow the link.
