Former esports athlete Jordan n0thing Gilbert expressed his surprise on Twitter about the fact that at RMR tournaments leading up to the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024, organizers provided computers that were not powerful enough.
"I was shocked to learn that PGL or any other tournament operator does not prioritize processors at CS tournaments, especially since this has already happened during the CS:GO era. I hope we won't have to return to this issue in the future. As far as I know, most top tournaments nowadays provide players with computers that have the necessary specifications," wrote n0thing.
Previously, several esports athletes complained about the insufficient power of computers at the RMR tournament. The first was 9Pandas captain Denis seized Kostin. He reported that the PCs were equipped with AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processors, which were used on tournament computers back in the CS:GO days, causing CS2 to not deliver more than 300 FPS. After him, Natus Vincere sniper Igor w0nderful Zhdanov spoke out about the problem, stating that sometimes the frame rate drops to 200.
Remember that the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR takes place from February 14 to 24 in the capital of Romania, Bucharest. The tournament does not have a prize pool, however, 8 teams out of 32 will advance to the main stage of the tournament.
