Spanish organization Movistar Riders has parted ways with CS2 team coach Galder “bladE” Barcena. The news was announced through the club's official social media.
bladE has held the position of coach since 2019, under his leadership the previous iteration of the roster with SunPayus managed to achieve respectable results on the international stage. This includes championships at several ESL Challenger series tournaments, as well as a 3rd-4th place finish at IEM Cologne 2022.
At their peak, the then roster of Movistar Riders could be considered one of the strongest teams in the world, but after the departure of their sniper, they failed to replicate their former success. It is worth noting that Antonio “Martinez” Martinez also left the collective, and currently, the team has four players.
The future of the roster is unclear. Some sources suggest that the club intends to assemble an international lineup, with Adam "NEOFRAG" Zouhar and Guy "anarkez" Trachtman already having been tested. In any case, there is not much time left as the qualifiers for the RMR are just a couple of weeks away.
