After a three-week break from competitive CS:GO, Movistar Riders managed to defeat 9z and reach the quarterfinals of the ESL Pro League Season 18. In the next stage, the Spanish team will meet ENCE.
The match turned out to be very close. The teams played 29 rounds on the first Nuke map, but the 9z peak went to Movistar Riders. There were 28 rounds on Anubis, and 9z was already stronger here. The third map turned out to be the most devastating: Movistar Riders showed a confident attack and closed the opponent with a score of 16:9.
The MVP award went to the sniper of the Spanish team Antonio "Martinez" Martinez. He received a score of 7.0 and a 68-43 record. Five clutch shots also played an important role.

After four consecutive defeats in the tournament, 9z left the ESL Pro League, taking 9th-12th place and receiving $25,000. The tournament takes place from August 30 to October 1 in Malta. Teams are competing for a prize pool of $850 thousand. The champion will also receive slots at BLAST Premier: World Final 2023 and IEM Katowice 2024.
