Today at 19:00 EEST, the final match of the Roobet Cup 2023 between Monte and Virtus.pro will start. The winner of this match will receive $150,000, and the second-place team will get $50,000. We decided to make a prediction for this match and even asked a well-known analyst Oleksandr "petr1k" Petryk to share his match expectations.
Individual form
Both teams are currently in a good shape and will try to play as many matches and tournaments as possible to get used to Counter-Strike 2. In the last 11 matches, Monte lost only one - against FaZe at the Thunderpick World Championship 2023. It is worth reminding that FaZe won the first LAN tournament Intel Extreme Masters Sydney 2023 in the new game. Also, please note that in 11 BO3 Monte, they lost only six maps.
Virtus.pro is also in outstanding form, but still shows slightly worse results: two defeats in nine matches in Counter-Strike 2. Like their opponent, Virtus.pro reached the playoffs of the Thunderpick World Championship 2023.

The teams have been playing in their current lineups for quite some time and have been showing decent results, adhering to their own playstyles. Monte is a team that plays fast and tries to bring the opponent to the gunfight. During the clashes, the team's players rely on quick trades and sharp aims.
Virtus.pro is the exact opposite. The team is known for its style, which is based on slowly occupying space and trying to deceive the opponent, making him doubt his next move. Usually, Virtus.pro tries to use as much time as possible on the way to the net, and, if things don't go according to plan, they go for saves. In fact, the numbers confirm this.
Map pool
We shouldn't expect anything unexpected in the veto maps. Teams will definitely remove Inferno and Nuke, their permabans. This situation is quite convenient for Monte because the opponent bans one of Monte's worst maps, and Monte removes Virtus.pro's the best map.
With spades, everything is also pretty predictable: Monte picks Anubis, their best map, and Virtus.pro picks Overpass, the opponent's worst map. After one more round of bans, the Ancient map should be left, which is quite convenient for both finalists, and it was the one that was on the desideratum in both semifinals.
Prediction
Both participants of the decisive match demonstrate excellent play in the new version of Counter-Strike and, therefore, have high chances of winning the Roobet Cup 2023. Here is what the famous analyst petr1k thinks about it:
Monte's opponent is a very difficult one, with a perfectly understandable but extremely unpleasant playstyle. According to the map pool tomorrow, Monte will most likely test their Overpass again, but they can also choose Mirage or Anubis, which are convenient for them. I think there will be a third map, and I wish Monte a victory, of course!
We agree with petr1k and think that the final will stretch into a full BO3 because the teams are showing very high-quality play on their own maps. Also. Ancient, the most possible decider, is at a strong level from both finalists.
However, Monte still shows better form in recent matches and has a slight advantage over Virtus.pro in veto maps. That is why we believe that Monte will win this close match.
