Monte is one step away from advancing to the playoffs of the BLAST.tv Major Paris 2023

In the Legends stage of the latest CS:GO Major - BLAST.tv Major Paris 2023, Monte defeated the team FNATIC. Now, the Ukrainian organization is just one step away from the playoffs!

The match between the teams took place on the Vertigo map, where the winner was determined only after the first series of overtime rounds. The match ended with a score of 19 to 17 in favor of Monte.

The most valuable player of the match was Jordanian player Mohammad BOROS Malhas, who finished the map with a rating of 6.8!

After the match, Monte's coach, Sergiy lmbt Bezhanov, shared his comment on his Telegram channel:

Phew, just smoked a pack of cigarettes. This is insane, guys, please spare my nerves.

But overall, the team is just top-notch. We lost two pistol rounds, six force buys, and still managed to win the bo1. It's unreal. Well done, guys!

After the match, captain Viktor sdy Orudzhev gave a short interview to the BLAST studio.

You are now 2-0, how do you feel?

It feels great! I'm proud of the guys and proud of Vertigo! I wasn't the captain on this map. All players acted as captains.

If everyone was a captain, how did you decide what you needed to do?

You need to have a special chemistry within the team to feel it. We simply chose the best option out of all the suggestions. Sometimes it didn't work, but now everything clicked, and it's fantastic!

So, am I right to understand that it was part of the plan for BOROS to fall off the building and get hit by grenades?

When he fell, he simply said, 'Guys, I'm dead.' There was nothing we could do, so we just laughed, and that was it.

What do you think, who should be your next opponent?

We don't really care who our next opponent will be. We'll just prepare for the game and show our best performance.

Currently, the next opponent for Monte, as well as FNATIC, is not known. But the next matches for the teams will take place tomorrow!

The BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 is taking place from May 8th to May 21st. The teams are competing for a prize pool of $1.25 million. The tournament winner will also secure spots in the IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST Premier: World Final 2023. You can track the schedule and results of the Major using this link.
