Monte defeated Aurora with a score of 2:1 and reached the final of the Roobet Cup 2023, where they can win $150,000. This is the first final at the S-tier tournament for the Ukrainian organization.
The match began with Aurora's victory on Monte's choice Anubis with a score of 13:10, and given the instability of Monte on Nuke, everything was going to another victory for Aurora in the head-to-heads between these teams.
However, the Ukrainian squad managed to break the losing streak and win the map against this opponent for the first time. Decider Ancient also went according to Monte's scenario, 13:10. The team reached the first final of the tier-1 tournament, where they will meet the winner of the FURIA - Virtus.pro pair.
Prior to that, Monte and Aurora played three matches between them, and Aurora won all of them: 22:20 at IEM Road to Rio 2022: European RMR - Open Qualifier 1, 2:0 at CCT South Europe Season 3, and 16:14 at RES Eastern European Masters: Spring 2023.
Monte's previous highest achievement at a major tournament was reaching the semifinals of ESL Pro League Season 18, where the team lost to NAVI and received $50,000.
