Monte and B8 players will no longer be able to travel abroad to play tournaments

Today it became known that the Ukrainians from Monte and B8 can no longer travel abroad for tournaments with the help of the Ukrainian Esports Federation (UESF). This was announced by the owner of the federation, Anton Markelov.

The most important thing from the speech of Yegor markeloff Markelov's brother — Anton Markelov:

  • The players of these teams were excluded from the national team of Ukraine in CS:GO.
  • They will no longer be able to travel abroad to international tournaments with the help of the Ukrainian Esports Federation.

Why is this clarification so crucial for the Ukrainian community?

The first to raise the issue of the Ukrainian national team at the upcoming WEC23 was Monte team’s sniper Volodymyr Woro2k Veletnyuk, who expressed his strong indignation at the team's decision on his Telegram channel.

Let us remind you that the lineup of the National Team of Ukraine is the entire composition of the IKLA:

IKLA is a Ukrainian professional organization based in Ukraine, Kyiv.

What’s next?

We remind you that on May 26, 2023, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine brought important information to the public's attention. In their official statement, they disclosed the list of persons who violated their obligations to return to the territory of Ukraine after the sports event. This document contains the names of 236 people, including well-known players of the Monte and B8 teams.

In total, the list included the following Ukrainian athletes:

The primary motivation that led to such violations was the decision of these athletes to stay in Europe at bootcamps. They sought to allow themselves to participate in international tournaments, especially considering the new controversial decree prohibiting participation in these competitions in the presence of Russian and Belarusian representatives.

After that, the Monte team was told that they were supposed to return home after the end of RMR, but since they qualified for the last CS:GO Major - BLAST.tv Major Paris 2023, the team had to stay abroad for the duration of the Major.

But after the end of the tournament, all the Ukrainians from Monte returned home. They confirmed this through their personal Telegram channels.

On the other hand, the B8 team didn’t make any announcements.

Let us remind you that the Ukrainian team has already entered Group A in the qualifying stage, where the teams of Israel, Estonia, and Armenia became their opponents. The total number of participating teams in the qualification is 16. Still, only the four best teams will be able to continue their journey and participate in the WEC23 world championship, scheduled from August 25 to September 3 in Romania. The prize fund of the tournament will amount to $ 100,000.
