Memes, Fails, and Trash Talk on Day Two of PGL Bucharest 2025

The second day of the PGL Bucharest 2025 tournament was not only packed with matches but also rich in memes, trash talk, and unexpected twists. From the crushing defeat of Falcons and the community's reaction to a humorous moment with chelo and the dismissal of the legendary zews, all of this became part of the CS2 info sphere. In this roundup, you'll find the most talked-about moments and amusing episodes you definitely won't want to miss.

Falcons vs. GamerLegion

When looking at these two teams and knowing they would play, one would expect an interesting match. But it turned out otherwise. Falcons performed terribly, winning only 3 rounds across two maps. Naturally, after such a performance, and amid rumors of m0NESY joining the roster, there was a lot of negativity and memes directed their way. GamerLegion were among the first to joke, comparing them to a Happy Meal.

The well-known kassad also chimed in, informing the community that one month's salary for a Falcons player is equivalent to two months' salary for the entire GamerLegion team, adding:

Congratulations, you are officially worse than Astralis.

Launders also shared a meme targeting Falcons, posting a photo with the comment: “Falcons welcome m0NESY.”

Besides analysts and other community figures, players also shared their reactions to the match. NiKo was brief, simply retweeting his past post from March 23, when the team lost to Virtus.Pro and exited the BLAST Open Spring 2025.

In addition to NiKo, degster, who is rumored to be replaced by m0NESY, wrote a very sad and cryptic message on his Telegram channel. Degster will miss the major cycle, as he won't join G2, and a sniper is unlikely needed mid-season.

I really want to share with you, but I'll tell you later. I'll just say I'm disappointed right now

FURIA vs. Complexity

The match itself wasn't particularly spectacular, except for a few interesting moments. The first map was relatively easy for FURIA, but with the score at 12-6, FURIA found themselves in a 3v0 situation and were on the brink of victory. However, during the bomb defuse, chelo decided to trash talk Complexity. At that moment, his headphones fell off his head and knocked his hand, which was defusing the bomb. Due to the lack of defuse kits, they lost the round.

Besides the in-game video, there is a side view showing FURIA's reaction. The players took it positively, which helped them win the next round, but they couldn't win the game. They won only 5 rounds over the next two maps.

zews Dismissal

Brazilian coach and two-time major champion zews ended his brief stint as a commentator at PGL Bucharest 2025. He worked only two matches before being taken off the air.

Zews confirmed the news on the evening of April 6. According to him, the community "wasn't ready" for his style of commentary. He also added that he might soon present new content if he finds a way to express his thoughts correctly.

It's worth noting that this was zews' first experience as a commentator on an official tournament broadcast of this level. Users on X and Reddit complained about "chatter" and a lack of focus on the game.

PGL Bucharest 2025 runs from April 6 to April 13. The entire tournament takes place in Bucharest, Romania, at the PGL Studio. Participants are competing for a prize pool of $625,000. You can follow the results and progress of the tournament here.
