American organization NRG, which left Counter Strike in 2019, plans to return to Valve's shooter. The club has reportedly chosen a trio of players around whom the team will be built.
According to HLTV, former esports athletes from Liquid and Evil Geniuses will play for NRG: Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte, Josh "oSee" Ohm, and Damian "daps" Steele, who has been a coach for the past year and a half. Regarding the other two members, the club is eyeing Justin "FaNg" Coakley and Jadan "HexT" Postma – they were seen playing FACEIT together with the aforementioned trio.
NRG's CEO previously stated that the roster would be from North America. This is largely good news for the region, especially considering that Liquid will also return to their home continent after a relatively short stint in Europe. The organization has more than a month to officially introduce the players, as the first open qualifiers for the first RMR cycle for CS2 in America and the rest of the world will start in the first half of January 2024.
