Are Mapcore and FACEIT working on maps for CS2?

Mapcore, in partnership with FACEIT, has announced a new Counter-Strike 2 mapping contest. This contest, titled "Big Adventures," features a significant prize pool of $15,000 and aims to encourage the community to create innovative maps. The contest will unfold in three stages over a full year, concluding in May 2025.

In 2019, a similar contest was held where the map Anubis emerged victorious. Anubis later became part of the active pool, illustrating the potential impact of this competition on the game's landscape. Now, with the repost of the contest by the official CS2 account in April, there's speculation about new maps possibly making their way into CS2.

Interestingly, the maps named Gabe Follower yesterday were previously tested on FACEIT as part of the Mapcore community hubs. This method not only showcases the creative potential within the community but also sets the stage for these maps to potentially join the official CS2 map rotation, similar to Anubis's success story.
