Selection by regions, matchmaking changes, and content instead of operations — a major update has been released on FACEIT

FACEIT platform has received a major update, introducing player selection by regions, making changes in matchmaking, and adding content that replaces operations in CS2. Information about this appeared on the platform's official website.

Main Changes

  • Instead of Premium matchmaking, there is now only Supermatch. In this mode, players for a match are selected within a 300 ELO range: the waiting time is longer, but the selection is more accurate.
  • Selection by region: now the search will try to combine players speaking the same language into a team.
  • Updated ELO widget on the match page, where you will see more information about your rating.
  • New design and functionality for team and tournament pages. It will be easier to search for match history, analyze opponents, etc., and to organize, register, and play in tournaments.
  • Registration is open for the new season of ESEA Open.
  • Winter missions, tournaments, and ladders — content instead of operations in CS2.

The full list of changes is available via a link.

Previously, Valve blocked the possibility of changing the tickrate on all CS2 servers. This decision by the developers forced FACEIT to switch their servers from 128 tickrate, which they always used, to 64 (subtick). More about this can be read in the article.
