lux: "We've been playing well online so it would have been sad if we went to LAN and choked"

paiN is a team that we are now very used to doing damage on the international stage, recently bolstered by the arrival of the Brazilian wonderkid snow, they are set to continue to cause trouble for teams after knocking out Imperial to keep their IEM Cologne 2024 dreams alive.

After the game against Imperial, we spoke to lux about his hopes for the next game versus MIBR, MIBR’s recent IGL change, and the addition of snow to his team.

Interview was taken and written by Sam "AN1MO" McKenzie

A good win for you there over Imperial, how are you feeling?

I'm happy, we showed the same game we've been playing when we were online, so it would have been sad if we went to the LAN and then choked. We're still alive in the tournament, so we're very happy.

You play MIBR in your next game, how are you feeling about it?

Always South American teams playing against each other [laughs]. We're feeling confident, we played them twice last week and we won both games, but it's different now they've changed roles and drop is the IGL.

We don't know how they'll play now so that will be different, and it's on LAN which can also be a big difference.

What do you think about that IGL change?

It should be good, drop talks a lot and makes a lot of mid-round calls. I haven't played with him, but the guys who have said he's very good and they think it's a great change. exit will also be able to go back to lurking which is good for them.

paiN recently signed snow, a very young guy with great ability, did he surprise you with how good he is despite his age?

Actually, he surprised me early this year when we played the closed qualifier for the RMR. He was playing for Case and he was really good, he wasn't too good before that and then he just becomes the Brazilian donk, like, come on? What is this guy doing?

He's incredible, he listens a lot, and he's even shown me some things. We're bombsite partners so we've become really good friends and he always hypes us up, even if we are losing and maybe he isn't playing so good, he's still there.

What's he like as a person? Is his maturity for his age also surprising?
