Kvan: "Natus Vincere should sell s1mple before his value drops."

Famed Ukrainian commentator Fedor "KvaN" Zakharov expressed his thoughts on the current situation in the world of Counter-Strike 2 and the changes among the top teams on his official Telegram channel. He also touched upon the recent move to inactivity of Natus Vincere's sniper, Alexander "s1mple" Kostylev.

Currently, there indeed seems to be some chaos at the tier-1 level. Day after day, new rumors or official announcements appear. The entire esports scene before the first major Counter-Strike championship threatens to change beyond recognition.

Kvan began with his assumptions, which apparently are now incorrect:

During the transition to Counter Strike 2, I genuinely believed that most T1 teams would try their hardest to retain their lineups. This seemed logical as while others were making changes, your team could continue to develop based on accumulated experience in CS:GO (tactics, team play, communication, etc.).

Nonetheless, Kvan expressed his concern about the current state of affairs:

However, at the moment, this transition effectively reset the entire T1 scene, and we can see its rebuilding from scratch.

He also expressed the opinion that some players lost their initial motivation, and instead of merely winning tournaments, they began making various demands.

Furthermore, Kvan voiced his anxiety about the changes in team line-ups and their implications:

After the initial replacements, the entire scene fell apart like a house of cards. Now every organization wants a "strong player," and every player wants the "best organization." I think at the majors, we'll see which players and organizations weathered this storm and which did not. Who made the right decisions, and who fell short.

Finally, Kvan highlighted the successes of Complexity Gaming - jTfloppy, and hallzerk, who continue to deliver outstanding results in finals, and called on others to follow their lead.

In the context of the situation with the Ukrainian player Alexander "s1mple" Kostylev, Kvan expressed the following opinion:

Regarding s1mple: I understand they are already looking for his replacement, and active participation and training with the team are not anticipated. Waiting for an uncertain amount of time, hoping for "when he returns" and "whether he can play at a high level in CS2" and so on, makes no sense. He also believed that the best decision for Ukraine would be to sell s1mple before his value drops, as his inactivity and lack of results in CS2 will not add value in the future.

Kvan might indeed be right, as there are already rumors that he will be replaced by the rising Ukrainian star, Igor "w0nderful" Zhdanov, who is currently playing for Sprout.
