kennyS announced his retirement

Legendary French sniper Kenny kennyS Schrub announced his retirement as a player on the stage of the final CS:GO major - BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023!

kennyS's final speech went as follows:

So here I am on that stage. Took a decision a while ago and I feel like the best way to do it was on that stage, on that city, in that country, with the people that follow me all the way since the beginning has given me pretty much everything in life Experience, knowledge, sociability, maturity. Pretty much everything.

But make it quick. And, uh, because, uh, so I took, um, that place here to, to tell you that, first of all, I thank you for the bottom of my heart. For all the love you giving me. And I just want to say that the way people you guys look at me when you you meet me, the way you speak to me is the biggest pride I have in my life because I don't even know if I deserve that. But here you are being the people you are with me. And so thank you very much for that. To make it short, yeah, I'm retiring from competition. I. I loved every single moment.

See? Not my best picture. Not gonna lie, but, um. And obviously many tournaments, such as Montpellier because, once again, like being friends, I know. I feel like I haven't really been close to my French audience, but actually I am. So I want to thank everyone, but I will switch to French now because. En anglais. Merci. Merci. Merci. A vu.

Who is this kennyS, anyway?

kennyS is a legendary French sniper. In principle, we could end it there, but let's remember the player's most notable achievements!

It's worth noting that Kenny first encountered Counter-Strike when he was only 6 years old, as mentioned in his player profile.

Kenny first entered the esports scene 11 years ago at the age of 17. At that time, everyone was still playing the less popular Counter-Strike: Source.

Throughout his career, kennyS played for numerous teams, including G2Team LDLCTeam EnvyTitanVeryGames, and others. In total, he has been part of 10 different organizations.

Undoubtedly, the most significant victory for kennyS was the major he won at the age of 15 - DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015, where he emerged victorious with the then-top team, Team Envy.

He also reached the final of another major but unfortunately ended up in second place, and that tournament was ESL One: Cologne 2015.

Throughout his career, the French player won more than 17 major tournaments and earned $737,484 in prize money alone. His major victories include:

  • DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017
  • ESL Pro League Season 5 - Finals
  • World Electronic Sports Games 2016
  • Global eSports Cup - Season 1
  • DreamHack Open London 2015
  • European Championship 2014

After his last team, the player founded his own organization, Team Falcons, which couldn't achieve good results at the recent major in this game version.

One of his most notable achievements is the 20,472 kills with the AWP!

In the end, it can be said that the French player had a brilliant career. He has forever engraved his name in the history of CS:GO.
