Swedish Counter-Strike veteran Jesper “JW” Wecksell has poked fun at the latest changes to the Astralis roster, alluding to his experience with the high-profile 2016 reshuffle at GODSENT. In his tweet, JW wrote: “Did you guys learn nothing from the godsent shuffle?”, which caused a lively reaction in the esports community.
What happened in GODSENT?
In 2016, fnatic made a player exchange with GODSENT. JW, flusha and KRIMZ joined GODSENT, and twist, wenton and Lekr0 joined fnatic. These changes provoked an internal conflict in fnatic and caused a lot of controversy. The GODSENT roster, which also included pronax and znajder, had great ambitions, but the results did not meet expectations.
Two months after the exchange, KRIMZ returned to fnatic, and Lekr0 was back in GODSENT. However, the new GODSENT roster failed at the ELEAGUE Major 2017, failing to even make it past the group stage. Instead, fnatic and KRIMZ managed to reach the semifinals.
