Complexity captain Johnny "JT" Theodosiou shared his thoughts on Counter-Strike 2 in an interview with HLTV after his winning match against BetBoom in the quarterfinals of the Intel Extreme Masters Sydney 2023.
The South African noted that the game hasn't quite caught on with him yet, but he likes the changes that the developers are making. JT believes that it is easy to be creative in the game, as nothing blocks players from coming up with new tactics.
Honestly, I don't like the game that much, but I like the changes that they tried to implement like nuking the smokes with HEs, no skyboxes, stuff like that. It's really easy to be creative in this game in terms of strategies, there's nothing blocking you constantly, and it makes the games a lot of fun especially for IGLs that are just trying to be creative.
IEM Sydney 2023 became the first LAN tournament on Counter-Strike 2. Tomorrow, October 21, the semifinals of the event will take place, where Complexity will meet G2 and FaZe will meet MOUZ. The winner of IEM Sydney 2023 will receive $100,000 in prize money and a slot at IEM Katowice 2024.
