Jimpphat explains how he cheated and got a VAC ban

Today, the rising star of the Finnish eSports scene, namely 16-year-old MOUZ player Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo, revealed many interesting details in his new interview, including who saved him from a VAC ban.

We have extracted the most important points from the player's new interview:

  • Jimpphat's brother, Sergej, doesn't play a lot and is focused on his personal life. It's still unclear whether he will return to playing CS.
  • During the summer break, Jimpphat was confident that he would move to a new team. He was in talks with OG and several other top-20 teams, as well as one unnamed new project.
  • Ultimately, he considered MOUZ the most suitable team for him, given the players and their potential.
  • Jimpphat thinks some Finnish players are too arrogant, and this is a problem for the scene.
  • In Finland, you have to study until you're 18. Jimpphat studies business remotely, but his school understands that he has good prospects in esports and is lenient about it.
  • Jimpphat received a VAC ban for cheating in MM when he was 11 years old. He had no idea that it would become his future job.
  • Jimpphat is grateful to Jamppi for influencing Valve by taking legal action. As a result, Valve changed the VAC ban rules from indefinite to a 5-year disqualification from Majors.

On January 26, 2018, Jimpphat received a VAC ban and was prohibited from participating in Valve-sponsored tournaments. Later, the developers decided to change the rules for participants of competitions held under their auspices. Following these changes, Salo was unbanned on January 26, 2023, and he now has the doors to major esports open to him.

It should be noted that Jimpphat began his career at the age of 13, and in 2022 he joined MOUZ NXT when he was 15. As of 2023, he has been included in the main MOUZ lineup and their roster now looks like this:
