Changes in Into the Breach: BOROS out?

British sniper Owen “smooya” Butterfield, representing Into the Breach, recently announced roster changes after the team's poor performance. This announcement reinforces his intention to make personnel changes to improve results.

Disappointment and dissatisfaction

After a series of poor performances, including matches in the Elisa Invitational Fall and YaLLa Compass Summer 2024 Contenders tournaments, smooya openly expressed his disappointment with the team's roster. In his interview after the match, he called the performances “unacceptable” and hinted at changes in the lineup.

Changes in the lineup have already begun

Although smooya did not name any specific players who will be affected by the changes, the first adjustments have already begun to take place. At the last tournaments, Into the Breach played without one of their key players - Mohammad “BOROS” Malhas. His place was taken by various players, including: kRYSTAL, lollipop21k, Aaron and rallen.

Polish player Karol “rallen” Rodowicz, who has been on the ITB bench since March this year, returned to the lineup for the second open qualifying stage of the IEM Rio EU, replacing BOROS. The replacement has not yet been officially confirmed, but many believe that this is only a temporary move as the team is looking for a new permanent player.

What's next for BOROS?

Many fans and analysts are wondering what the future holds for BOROS, which has been showing erratic play lately. After a short stint playing for the Falcons, BOROS has struggled to establish himself in the ITB mainstream. And although he has shown great results in the past, for example while playing for Monte, his future in the ITB remains uncertain.

The team also did not give a clear answer to joking questions on social media, where ITB hinted that BOROS was “just at the dentist's office,” which only added more intrigue to the situation.

Into the Breach's outlook

At the moment, the ITB team is in the process of rebuilding, and it is not known how exactly these changes will end. However, it is already clear that smooya is determined to seriously change the course of events and bring the team to a new level. The goal is obvious: to become competitive on the international stage.
