PGL announced that they will be conducting the much-anticipated English broadcast of the Perfect World CS2 Shanghai Major 2024. Interestingly, the broadcast will be done remotely rather than from a studio in China. Following this announcement, the community's reaction was decidedly amusing, with everyone requesting that they change their sound engineer, as there were significant issues with this during their last CS2 tournament.

As part of their efforts to provide high-quality coverage of the Perfect World CS2 Shanghai Major 2024 to a global audience, PGL will conduct the remote English broadcast. This promises high-quality coverage, delivering all the thrilling moments of the RMR and the main tournament directly to fans worldwide.

For PGL, this will be another addition to their extensive portfolio of global coverage, having recently hosted their tournament at a high level, except for the issue with the sound engineer. NAVI won the tournament at the end of March, becoming the first winners of the CS2 major.

The tournament will take place from December 1 to 15, 2024. The participants are yet to be determined, as the invites will be issued based on the rankings as of August 7, 2024. Teams have one month left to climb to the top of the rankings and secure a coveted slot in the tournament.

The closed qualifiers for the tournament will be held online from August 21 to 24 and are expected to be the most anticipated qualifiers ever. This year, Valve removed the open qualifiers for the tournament, and now teams can only qualify through an invitation based on the Valve ranking.
