Into the Breach and SAW have reached the semifinals of Thunderpick World Championship Europe season 2 2023 and will decide the fate of one of the two slots in the main stage of the online tournament with a prize pool of $500,000. Both teams received invitations to the Play-In stage of the event and needed only three wins to reach the final.
Thunderpick World Championship may become the first tournament for Into the Breach S-tier at IEM Cologne 2023. Since then, Adam "NEOFRAG" Zouhar, Thomas "Thomas" Utting and coach Gustavo "Juve" Alexandre have left the team. However, the team found the right balance with the signing of Alexey "Qikert" Golubev. Since his arrival, Into the Breach has won five out of seven matches, including victories over Sprout and ALTERNATE aTTaX.
SAW also significantly changed their roster, but had more time to play together. With the current roster, the Portuguese team reached the finals of Gamers8 Last Chance Qualifier 2023 and CCT North Europe Season 6. At the Thunderpick World Championship qualifier, they had more difficult opponents than Into the Breach: the team defeated Looking4Org and OG.
One more place in one stage will be played between Spirit, 9z, Endpoint, and MIBR. We would like to remind you that Thunderpick World Championship will be held from October 27 to November 5. ENCE, Heroic, MOUZ, BIG, Wildcard, M80, Complexity, and Nouns have already guaranteed participation in the event.
