Four more teams were going to advance to the IEM Fall Europe 2021 after tonight’s set of games, moving one step closer to the PGL Major Stockholm 2021.
FaZe Clan, fresh off their early exit in ESL Pro League Season 14, did not waste any time, as they faced the Danish mix OPAA, only giving ten combined rounds on Mirage and Overpass and advancing to the next stage. An experienced and dangerous Dignitas lineup joined the mix few hours later, as “f0rest” and crew dispatched MAD Lions on Nuke before narrowly taking Mirage in the last round of regulation despite the late rally from the European mix. Two Bulgarian teams suffered different fate on the day, as SKADE moved past Anonymo despite dropping Vertigo, while Fiend could not close the three map affair against Copenhagen Flames, as the Danes survived in the overtime to progress in the tournament.
Tomorrow eight teams will play for the last four spots, as for the vast majority of them it is by far the biggest opportunity to play for this season.
