In a significant update to the IEM Chengdu 2024 roster, ESL has announced in X the withdrawal of Complexity Gaming and M80 from the upcoming Counter-Strike 2 tournament. Stepping up to the challenge are North America's Team Liquid and Wildcard Gaming, which finished second and third, respectively, in the regional qualifiers.
Two teams have been replaced for #IEM Chengdu. Whilst @M80gg and @Complexity have withdrawn, @TeamLiquid and @Wildcard_GG will replace them in the upcoming tournament.
The reason behind Complexity's and M80's withdrawal has not been officially disclosed, though there have been reports suggesting visa issues for entry into China as a potential cause.
Set to run from April 8-14, the LAN event in Chengdu, China, will feature 16 teams, including big names like Cloud9, G2, MOUZ, and FaZe Clan, all competing for a $250,000 prize pool. Additionally, the victor of the event will secure a much-coveted slot at IEM Cologne 2024.
