After Natus Vincere defeated Apeks in the elimination match at IEM Katowice 2024, the team's coach, Andrey B1ad3 Gorodenskiy, gave a lengthy interview to an esports portal. In it, he shared many interesting insights about w0nderful and much more.
Natus Vincere beat their opponents from Apeks with a score of 2:1 in maps. Read more about this match here. Earlier, the black and yellows lost to Team Spirit in their first match at IEM Katowice 2024. That's the team where donk is currently playing, about whom Andrey also commented.
Especially for our portal readers, we've gathered all the most exciting and interesting insights. For a complete picture, sometimes we will include full versions of questions.
First, B1ad3 was asked about what happened on the second map of the match against Apeks.
I think I was pretty frustrated during the whole match but with moments. Sometimes you do some strange and stupid thing, not something I expect to see and I'm pretty sure players also don't expect to see this. And it's just really frustrating, yeah. It's just mistakes, you know? On Anubis we were hurrying up where we could freeze for a little bit, if we have a smoke in our face, and not hurry up because people have an advantage... Basic things. We are not doing steps properly for advantageous situations.
I also wanted to ask about this. We've seen that b1t has been in good form since the start of this lineup, and iM has also started to gain momentum, but in Katowice, it hasn't happened yet. They had a tough start against Spirit and also on the first map here. What do you think this is related to?
I like it. I like it a lot, actually. I like how he's improving. I remember when he came and what knowledge he had, and I think he's understanding a lot of what we're trying to teach him. The dynamic is really, really good, but he still has a lack of experience and, because of this, decision-making sometimes. With this dynamic, he can be a really great player.
Next, B1ad3 commented on the phenomenon of donk:
I think he's individually really good, mechanically speaking he's good. Not in terms of experience for sure, like decision-making. I think he's doing aggressive plays, impulsive decisions, and it works for him in CS2 really well because you can swing and always have an advantage, you're running and people are supporting you from behind, or somebody is running in front of you sometimes. That's for sure his main strength. He's running and aiming really, really sharp. I don't think it's hard to counter him. I think if he faces a really strong team who challenge him aim-wise, in that case the other guy with experience have more effective decision-making.He has a great future, but I think the only thing he needs is to fix his behavior. Sometimes he's screaming really bad words at this age, and it's weird, very sad that nobody around can help him, to have good advice to say to him. They even praise him for doing this is, this is weird for me. I would really like to advise him not to be that kind of aggressive, screaming. It's different. When apEX is screaming, it's a different thing. He's screaming bad words and you see he means this, actually. It's a dangerous road, I think.
The next opponent for Natus Vincere will be the loser of the match between FaZe Clan and Eternal Fire.
