After defeating FaZe Clan in the final of BLAST Premier: World Final 2023, Team Vitality's sniper Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut spoke about his adaptation to Counter-Strike 2 in an analyst studio.
Earlier, many snipers stopped frequently using the AWP as they did in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and preferred to play with assault rifles instead. But not ZywOo, who continued to train diligently with the AWP.
Team Vitality beat their opponents 2-0 (Inferno 13:5, Nuke 13:7) in maps. Notably, the team didn't lose a single map throughout the tournament.
ZywOo:
I feel great in Counter-Strike 2; for me, it's the same game as CS:GO. Initially, it was tough, but I adapted. I want to show everyone that with the change of the game, I won't change my attitude, playing style, etc. I want to demonstrate that if you work hard and believe in yourself, you can achieve anything. When I play in tournaments, I don't think about the rating, whether my game is good or bad, I just try to play as well as possible.
As BLAST Premier: World Final 2023 has ended, all teams are heading for winter holidays. The first championship where we will see Team Vitality is BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024, starting on January 22.
