The organizers of the Hussar Cup tournament for Counter-Strike 2 have announced that the dates for the LAN event will be moved to the summer of 2024. This decision was prompted by the departure of the main sponsors of the championship and difficulties in concluding new agreements.
The Hussar Cup organizers reported on their Twitter that investors decided to leave the project after having to change the tournament dates under pressure from participants. Originally, the competition was scheduled for the period from August 30 to September 3 in Poland. However, these dates clashed with the schedule of the ESL Pro League Season 18, which caused dissatisfaction among the tournament participants.
To appease the teams, the organizers had to change the dates, venue, and reduce the prize fund from one million dollars to $600k. The championship was planned to be held from November 8 to 12 in Poznan, although initially, the "Silesian" stadium in Chorzów was supposed to be used.
Nevertheless, difficulties arose again as investors withdrew their participation. The Hussar Cup organizers stated that they have already found new potential partners, but concluding agreements with them will take time, and holding the tournament in November became impossible. Therefore, the competition was postponed until the summer of 2024.
