Today, on his YouTube channel, Georgian blogger SHOK interviewed the creators of cheats for Counter-Strike 2, where he learned how much they earn from developing third-party software for the game.
It's worth noting that SHOK interviewed not the developers themselves, but the CEO of a popular cheat for Counter-Strike 2. It's important to specify that they have earned over $950,000 in 2 years, according to public information.
The CEO of the popular cheat for Counter-Strike 2 reported that the total salary fund of their team, which consists of 20 people, ranges from 10 to 15 thousand euros. He noted that the average salary in the team is approximately $1,000, possibly even more.
However, he also noted that there are team members who work only one hour a day, and those who work around the clock. The highest salary in the team, about $5,000 per month, is earned by the backend developer responsible for the logic of the cheat itself.
After which SHOK asked them about the average revenue from creating cheats:
In Eastern Europe and in companies with a small number of developers, earnings usually amount to about $10,000 to $20,000. However, at the top level, where large companies develop cheats for hundreds of games, revenues can reach millions. For example, a Danish cheat brought its creators about $1,000,000 for the entire year of 2020.
In fact, the field of cheats for different games is very developed, not to mention the number of cheats for Counter-Strike 2, since practically in every match in Premier Mode you will encounter a cheater.
However, more and more, Valve is devoting time to their Anticheat, and maybe soon they will rid us of the problem of cheating in the game.
