Heroic is Top 1, Monte is above NAVI — Updated team ratings from Valve

The company Valve presented updated regional team ratings for CS:GO. Heroic took the first place in the European top.

What is the Valve rating for?

The developers have made changes to the rules for holding regional RMR competitions. Instead of automatic invitations to closed qualifications, teams will be determined based on their position in the rating. Those teams that do not receive an invite will have to go through open qualifications.

This decision was made because CS:GO majors are held only once every six months, and teams that became "legends" at the previous championship may not be worthy of a direct quota for the RMR tournament. Now, to get to RMR, teams need to successfully pass the closed qualification.

How is the regional rating formed?

Valve continues to keep the formula by which the CS:GO team rating is formed a secret. However, a representative of the company revealed the factors that influence the position of teams in the top:

  • Prize money earned by the team;
  • Prize money earned by the opponents that the team defeated and the number of defeated teams;
  • Head-to-head meetings.
