BTSBrasilTV has officially announced that it will be the official Brazilian-Portuguese broadcaster of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. This signifies a change in the Brazilian broadcasting scene, as Alexandre "Gaules" Borba, who has been the main broadcaster of majors for the past five years, will not be officially broadcasting this tournament.
BTSBrasilTV, in partnership with the Russian bookmaker BetBoom, has already announced that it will broadcast the world championship, three RMRs, and closed qualifiers in North and South America, as well as Europe on five different Twitch channels.
This change represents a significant departure from tradition, as Gaules was known for his popular Portuguese-language broadcasts of majors. He has been officially broadcasting majors in Portuguese since the StarLadder Berlin Major in 2019. This decision does not prevent Gaules and other streamers from broadcasting the event, adhering to PGL's rules, which include a broadcast delay and refusal to use the event's clean feed.
According to sources from Dust2 Brasil, BTSBrasilTV is also highly likely to obtain the rights to the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, the second world championship of this year, as part of a new partnership with BetBoom.
