It's official: GameSquare Holding has acquired FaZe Clan for more than $16 million

GameSquare Holding, which includes Complexity, announced the purchase of FaZe Clan. This became known from the official press release.

The amount of the deal amounted to an incredible $16-18 million dollars. It took place against the background of the maximum fall of FaZe shares on the NASDAQ stock exchange. The current owners of GameSquare will own 55% of the shares, FaZe shareholders, in turn, will have 45%. The transaction should happen in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The deal could potentially create a conflict of interest and create problems at future tournaments, especially RMR and the majors that Valve hosts. The fact that Complexity and FaZe now have a common parent company may result in a ban on simultaneous participation of these teams in prestigious events.

It should be noted that both Complexity and FaZe will play in the finals of IEM Sydney 2023, which starts on the morning of October 22 at 10:30.
