The group stage of IEM Cologne 2024 is over and 6 teams have qualified for the playoffs, which will be held at LANXESS Arena from August 16-18, where the winner will take home $400,000 and a spot at IEM Katowice 2025 and BLAST Premier: World Final 2024.
Group Stage Details
There were two groups in the group stage with 8 teams in each group. There were 3 teams from each group where the first place goes to the semi-finals of the tournament and the second and third place go to the quarter-finals.

Tournament Playoffs
The quarterfinals will feature SAW vs FaZe and G2 vs MOUZ. The second match promises to be more interesting, although on the other hand, FaZe are not in the best shape now, while SAW show a decent CS. There is no clear favorite in the matches, so they will be interesting to watch. The winners will advance to the semifinals, and who they will play against, you can see below:
Prize Distribution
The teams that play in the quarterfinals have guaranteed themselves $40,000 and the teams in the semifinals $80,000 each. Teams that withdrew from the tournament also hit the prize money. Which can be viewed below:

The finals will be played in BO5 format, which will add to the spectacle of the match, especially because the teams will play in the arena. Which will add brightness because of the true fans and the noise of the stadium.
