G2 Esports withdrew from CS2 Asia Championships 2023 and will be replaced by WingsUp

Today, the German organization G2 Esports announced on their official Twitter account that the team will skip the CS2 Asia Championships 2023.

The tournament operator, Perfect World Esports, announced that the local organization WingsUp will replace G2 Esports.

The reason why G2 will skip the championship is not specified by the organization, but fans speculate that it's because two players are on the verge of signing a contract with Falcons Esports, namely:

  •   Nikola "NiKo" Kovac

Perfect World Esports:

As confirmed by G2 CS, we regret to inform that G2 will be withdrawal the participation in CS Asia Championships 2023.We have urgently invited WingsUp, the third place of PPL S5, to be our replacement, and we will do our best to present the tournament to all the fans!
  

Reminder: The CS:GO Asia Championships will take place from November 8 to 12 in Shanghai, China. The prize pool for the championship will be $500,000, and the event will be held at the Yuanshen Sports Center with a capacity of 16,000 spectators.
