Former World Champion Julio joins Team BDS coaching staff ahead of Six Invitational 2025

Team BDS is set to begin their Six Invitational 2025 campaign in just a few hours. However, before the first matches kick off, the team made an unexpected official announcement: renowned former professional player and now coach, Julio "Julio" Giacomelli, has joined their coaching staff.

Official Announcement

Yesterday, Team BDS released a short video on their official social media channels. In the video, Julio shares his journey, emphasizing that he won the Six Invitational 2021 as a player and now aims to claim the championship title once again—this time as a coach. To achieve this goal, he has joined Team BDS as an assistant coach.

Julio "Julio" Giacomelli was crowned champion of the most prestigious tournament in Rainbow Six Siege, the Six Invitational 2021, as a member of Ninjas in Pyjamas. In the grand final, the team defeated Team Liquid, securing a $1,000,000 prize. A year later, Julio left the roster and transitioned into coaching—a career path he continues to pursue today.
