FlyQuest moves dexter to the bench after a poor start to the season

FlyQuest has announced a change in its Counter-Strike 2 roster, transferring Christopher "dexter ” Nong to the reserve. This decision was made after the unsuccessful start of the 2025 season, which was accompanied by early exits from several major tournaments.

There was simply too many outside factors in the team to making the start of the year how we wanted as a team. Going to be looking after myself physically more for the time being until I find a new home, but the last few weeks of losses has made my mental stronger then it has ever been, and I'm always appreciative of that.

Why did FlyQuest drop dexter?

The departure of dexter was the result of a series of unsuccessful performances on the international stage. FlyQuest was considered a promising team, but at the beginning of the year, they failed to realize their potential:

After a series of failures, FlyQuest's management decided to change the direction of the team's development and sent dexter to the reserve.

What was Dexter's best moment at FlyQuest?

Although the Australian did not achieve significant success with FlyQuest, the best result of the team under his leadership was the victory at the ESL Challenger Atlanta 2024. Back then, FlyQuest won the final against BIG and took the main trophy.

At the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, the team had every chance to move on after a 2-0 start, but lost three consecutive matches in the bo3 format and was eliminated at the Challenger Stage.

Dexter became part of FlyQuest in March 2024, after a three-year stint in Europe playing for MOUZ and fnatic. He returned to the Australian scene to build a competitive roster, but this project did not meet expectations.

FlyQuest is expected to decide on a new captain in the near future. They are likely to consider options from both the internal roster and the transfer market.

What's next for dexter?

It is currently unknown whether Dexter will return to the starting lineup of another team in the near future. He is 30 years old and has experience playing at the Tier-1 level, so it is likely that he will receive offers from Australian or international teams.

Given the unstable situation on the professional scene, he may either join another Australian team or try to return to playing in Europe.
