Ninjas in Pyjamas have settled on a player to replace Hampus "hampus" Poser in the role of in-game leader – this time, the leadership has set its sights on a 27-year-old Spaniard from Movistar Riders. Alejandro "alex" Masanet will try to rescue the "ninjas" this season.
In a statement from NIP's general manager Bjorn Pers, it's mentioned that the organization "has had alex in sight longer than most of you can imagine." He also called the new IGL a wonderful addition to the team they are building.
Despite some fans' skepticism, who would have preferred to keep hampus, statistically, he is slightly behind his counterpart from the Iberian Peninsula. However, Alejandro's personal performance won't be as crucial as his leadership qualities, which his new team will rely on.
Alex spent half of his decade-long career with Movistar Riders, with his total prize earnings over the years on the pro scene amounting to $127,000. Now, mopoz remains the only veteran of the Spanish club, having transferred there in 2017.
The debut of the revamped NIP will take place on November 9 at the CS Asia Championships 2023, where $500,000 will be up for grabs. The team is in the same group with Wings Up, FaZe, and MOUZ.
