NAVI player Ivan "iM" Mihai evaluated the team's performance at the IEM Katowice 2025 Group Stage. In an interview with Bo3.gg, he shared his thoughts on their victory against The MongolZ, detailing the key factors that led to their success. Mihai reflected on their tactical adjustments during the match, the importance of sticking to their game plan, and how the lack of roster changes has given NAVI an edge over other teams.
He also expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of fans, particularly from Romania, and shared his perspective on the challenges and advantages of competing on the international stage.
I’d say 9. Every year, I rate us as a nine because there’s always room for improvement. Overall, the match felt easier than expected. My opponents played well, but they might have been nervous or less focused since they were already qualified. Maybe they were trying to avoid a certain matchup in the semifinals. I could sense them struggling a bit.
It was mostly straightforward. We had some issues in the middle of the T side, but we took a tactical pause and reminded ourselves to stick to the original plan. At the start, we were a bit unlucky and forgot to execute one round properly. Once we corrected that, everything went as planned.
No, we always prepare the same way, regardless of the opponent. Whether it’s the Mongols or any other team, our approach remains consistent.
That’s a secret.
Just sticking to the plan, staying composed, and executing as we should.
We have a lot of fans, but for me personally, the Romanian fans stand out. They’re passionate and energetic. Unfortunately, I won’t be playing at PGL Bucharest with a crowd, but they are still amazing—enthusiastic, but not as chaotic as some other fanbases. It’s great to have their support.
Yes, I think it applies to any team, even the Mongols. If you didn’t have roster changes, you have an advantage because you've already built a foundation. Teams with new rosters have to start over and spend more time fixing issues, while we can focus on improving existing strategies.
That was at BLAST, not here. They played well and even surprised us with what they could do. They definitely have potential.
Actually, we need two—one major event like Katowice, Cologne, or a Major, plus an ESL tournament.
Not really. We take it one tournament at a time. Of course, winning Katowice would bring us closer, which makes this event more important. But if we lose here, then Cologne becomes our last chance.
As always, thank you for your support! I hope to see you at the event if you have tickets. Looking forward to meeting you!
