Today, the new roster of Evil Geniuses was just one step away from being eliminated from their first championship - BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023. In their last game, they lost to the Ninjas in Pyjamas team with a score of 2:0.
How did the tournament go for Evil Geniuses?
Not well at all. The team only managed to play 2 official matches in the bo3 format at the tournament.
In the first match, the EG team faced the reigning major champion - Team Vitality. The guys from France and Israel literally swept the North American scene forward with a score of 2:0.
The first map of the confrontation was Overpass. Here EG guys puffed and panted, but failed, the match ended with the score 16:6.
Next up was Vertigo, which Vitality won 16-3.
And then came the second match against Ninjas in Pyjamas, which EG also lost with a score of 2:0. But the struggle was fiercer here. The first map, Inferno, only ended after the second overtime rounds with a score of 22:20.
This was followed by Vertigo, on which the ninjas won with a score of 16:11.
It is worth noting that on June 24, EG introduced their new roster after the disbandment of the previous one:
