In the future, the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) intends to reveal the names of coaches who abused a bug related to the coaching camera during official matches. The organization's leader, Ian Smith, announced this in an interview for the INSITE YouTube channel, adding that the investigation results will be presented to the public.
According to an ESIC representative, some of the coaches currently work with third-tier teams. According to Smith, coaches who had camera issues in just one round will not be banned. Sanctions will only affect those coaches who systematically exploited this flaw.
When was the coaching bug first known?
Information about the observation mode bug was first publicly disclosed in 2020. At that time, ESIC banned 27 coaches, but some of them were later found innocent.
