The ENCE Academy team has announced significant personnel changes: Veeti ‘S1rva’ Sirva, who has been playing the role of game leader since the team's inception, is now moving to the bench. This decision was made after a thorough analysis and evaluation of the current squad and its needs.
S1rva has been at the forefront of shaping team spirit and strategy, delivering a number of significant achievements for the team. Under his leadership, ENCE Academy qualified for the Elisa Masters Espoo 2022, which was a great opportunity for the new team to perform in the arena and gain invaluable experience. In addition, the team won their first LAN tournament victory at Assembly Winter 2024, which was also an important step in their development.
Eemeli ‘Woomera’ Ikonen, ENCE Academy Programme Manager, expressed his feelings about the change:
S1rva's process of becoming an IGL has been a model for all of us. His optimistic attitude and positivity have been infectious. He is a personality who always looks at the glass half full and his impact on team spirit has been significant. We appreciate his contribution and support his decision to seek new challenges in other gaming roles.
S1rva himself shared his impressions:
My time at ENCE has been unforgettable and I leave the team with fond memories. These years have taught me a lot, both in and out of the game. I'm very grateful to my teammates for their support and help in making me an IGL. I have now decided to step down from this role to pursue my passion for self-improvement and helping my team succeed. ENCE will always remain in my heart.
The team is currently looking for a new IGL with a fresh perspective to lead the talented team. Ahmet ‘2high’ Baftijari will serve as the interim IGL and will help the team at upcoming tournaments, including the Elisa Pro Open 6 and CCT Season 2 EU Series 2, until a permanent solution is found.
