EliGE assesses TheMongolZ's level

Following the unexpected defeat of his team Complexity by TheMongolZ at ESL Challenger at DreamHack Atlanta 2023, Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski expressed his thoughts on the level of the opponent. He noted that TheMongolZ is a good team but not comparable to teams like FaZe or Vitality. According to him, Complexity should have beaten TheMongolZ, but their own form was very poor.

EliGE pointed out that Complexity made critical mistakes, which gave TheMongolZ the advantage. These mistakes were particularly noticeable on the Inferno map, where Complexity lost the advantage 4 against 5 in many rounds. On Overpass, despite being in the lead, they lost control at crucial moments.

I'm not really surprised by them or anything, they're just another team that is good and I didn't think they were not like FaZe, they're not Vitality, they're a team that we should be able to win against.Nothing crazy, I just think our form is really bad and how we were playing made it very easy for them. They played great to be able to beat us, but I felt like it looked a lot worse from our side. Obviously I'm playing in it and everything but on Inferno we're down 4v5 every round. Then on Overpass we were in the driver's seat until we lost control of the really important rounds.

EliGE also pointed out that the team failed to adequately adapt to the situation in the game and use their experience to make the right decisions. "We're trying to figure out what we can fundamentally do to solve this problem," he added.

In the first round of the ESL Challenger Atlanta 2023 playoffs, TheMongolZ will meet Virtus.pro. Winning this tournament awards $50,000 and a slot in the ESL Pro League Season 19. Among the playoff participants, only TheMongolZ and Monte have guaranteed their participation in the tournament in Malta.
