Community Releases Open Anti-Cheat for CS2 Servers: Features 17 Cheat Detection Modules

A new tool to combat cheaters has been introduced for Counter-Strike 2 community servers. Developer KAROLA has unveiled CS2AC — an open-source server-side anti-cheat now available for installation and testing.

The project is distributed under the AGPL-3.0 license and is specifically designed for community server administrators. Unlike client-side anti-cheats, CS2AC operates server-side, analyzing player behavior during matches.

17 Modules for Cheat Detection

The anti-cheat comes equipped with 17 distinct modules responsible for detecting various types of prohibited software and suspicious behavior. These include:

  • Aimbot
  • Aimlock
  • Silent Aim
  • Bhop
  • AutoStrafe
  • Doubletap
  • Anti-Aim
  • DLL Injection
  • Invalid CVar
  • Name Changer
  • Subtick Spam
  • and others.

Overall, the system analyzes shooting, movement, mouse behavior, subtick commands, name changes, DLL injections, and other parameters that may indicate the use of cheats.

How the System Works

When one of the CS2AC modules is triggered:

  • it announces the detection of a cheater in the general chat;
  • displays a warning in the center of the screen for five seconds;
  • logs evidence and punishment information to the server console;
  • automatically executes an administrator-configured ban or kick command;
  • sends a detailed report via Discord Webhook.

Open Development

The author encourages server owners to install CS2AC and assist with testing and project development. Since the anti-cheat is open-source, the community can participate in its enhancement and the addition of new cheat detection mechanisms.

The introduction of CS2AC has already sparked active discussions among players, as the community once again shows its desire to independently tackle the cheating problem, which remains a major issue in Counter-Strike 2.
